This wine is a superlative pairing for fettuccine with porcini, braised red meats, and well-matured cheeses. Aromas of cinnamon, eucalyptus and licorice give way to cherry flavors, yet this red is more about the savory, balsamic elements. Smooth initially, followed by tannins that come to the fore on the lingering finish. Best from 2021 through 2038.
